GREENFIELD– Homer W. Jessie, age 89, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Ellison House in Greenfield.  Born on April 24, 1918 in Rush County, he was the son of Claude and Carrie (Masters) Jessie.  He married W. Christine Jessie on September 4, 1948 and worked for Guide Lamp in Anderson for 33 years before retiring in 1980.  Mr. Jessie was a member of the VFW in Fortville and an Army Veteran of WWII.  Surviving him are his wife, Christine Jessie of Greenfield; son, Jeff (Patty) Jessie of Greenfield; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; brother, Earl Jessie of Seymor, Illinois; sisters, Cleo McDavid of Winchester, Vada Roseberry of New Castle, Myrtle Thompson of Ingalls, Katherine Kilgore of  Kentucky, and Minnie McGlone of Kentucky;  and several nieces and nephews.  Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Beth Harmon in 2002; sisters, Maudie Elsner, Georgia Simmerman, Mable Aurdale, Mary Jessie, and Melinda Durham; and brother, Charles Jessie.  Visitation will be Sunday, January 27, 2008, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.  Funeral services will be on Monday, January 28, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the mortuary with Chaplain Russ Jarvis officiating.  Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.  Friends may sign the on-line guestbook at www.erleweinmortuary.com or email condolences to sympathy@erleweinmortuary.com.
