WILKINSON,  – Norman D. (Spud) Wallace, age 82, died Friday, March  21, 2008 at Regency Place, Greenfield, Indiana.  Born on August 2, 1925 in Mohawk, Indiana, he was the son of Elmer and Pearl (Hutchinson) Wallace.  He attended Mt. Comfort High School. He married Betty Joan (Unverzagt) Wallace on June 1, 1946.  He was self-employed as a farmer.  Mr. Wallace was a member of the American Legion in both Greenfield and Knightstown and loved to fly.  He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific theater.  Surviving him are his son, Roger (Dawn) Wallace of Wilkinson; daughters Janet Sitton of Indianapolis, Brenda (Larry) Engleking of Hardinsburg, Indiana, and Tina (Denny) Rowe of Shirley;  grandchildren, Traci, Kim, Amanda, Cody, Chance, Wendy, Ryan, Amber, Misty, Cassi, and Angela; and great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Connor, Chris, Carlyn, Hayden, Kristen, Spencer, Justin, Adam, Erica, Jalyn, Elizabeth, and Jacob.  He was also survived by his sisters, Mary Grinstead of Greenfield and Juanita (Leon) Davis of Shelbyville.  Preceding him in death were his parents; mother of his children, Joan Wallace; grandson, Duane Vaughn; great-grandchild, Cory Cross; and several brothers and sisters.  There will be no visitation.  There will be a private gravesite ceremony with full military services at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.  Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.  Friends may sign the on-line guestbook at www.erleweinmortuary.com or email condolences to sympathy@erleweinmortuary.com.
