GREENFIELD– William F. McGinnis, age 77, died Saturday, February 16, 2008 at his home in Greenfield.  Born on April 21, 1930 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Lester and Marcella (Montgomery) McGinnis.  He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis and worked at Lily Industries for many years before retiring in 1994.  He married Leola Faye Kemerly and attended Amity United Methodist Church.  Mr. McGinnis loved to hunt and fish and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  Surviving him are his wife, Leola McGinnis of Greenfield; children, Dianna “Sue” (Shelton) Oakes, Jon (Novia) McGinnis, Robert (Julie) McGinnis, Paul McGinnis, David McGinnis, and Mari LeAnn Sherwood, all of Greenfield; nineteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.  Preceding him in death were his parents, Lester & Marcella McGinnis; and sister, Mary McGinnis.  Visitation will be Tuesday, February 19, 2008, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Philadelphia Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Amity United Methodist Church, 6042 W. 100 N., Greenfield, Indiana 46140.  Friends may sign the on-line guestbook at www.erleweinmortuary.com or email condolences to sympathy@erleweinmortuary.com.
