NEW PALESTINE – William David Perry, age 72, of New Palestine, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at his home. Born on May 26, 1935 in Harlen, Kentucky, he was the son of James and Maude (Smith) Perry. He graduated from Cumberland High School in Cumberland, Kentucky and received a Bachelors degree in accounting from Cumberland College. Mr. Perry was a maintenance supervisor at Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis for 33 years before retiring in April 1997. He was a member of the Brookside Masonic Lodge and a Kentucky Colonel. He had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his son, Wayne Perry of New Palestine; daughter, Lisa Shingleton of Indianapolis; brother, Jim Perry of Cumberland, KY; sisters, Patricia (David) Shephard of Cumberland, KY, and Betty (Foster) Willis of Texas; and two grandchildren, Russell and Tina. His parents, James and Maude Perry, and brother, Roy Perry, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 28, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield with Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 29, at 10:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Dennis Glazebrook will officiate. Burial with military rites will follow at Fountaintown Cemetery in Fountaintown.
