GREENFIELD– Raymond V. Brophy, Jr., age 93, died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Sugar Creek Nursing Home in Greenfield.  Born on November 27, 1914  in Platte County, MO, he was the son of Raymond and Helen (Ackley) Brophy.  Mr. Brophy was a radio and television engineer at WHB and KMBC in Kansas City, MO, until he retired in his 50’s.  He married Lucile Brophy on September 13, 1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Mr. Brophy was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Farm Labor Union Movement, IBEW Local 1259, and of the ACLU.  He was also President of the Labor Union associated with KMBC, a member of the Dachshunds Club of St. Louis, and a proprietor of Bro-bark Kennels.  Raymond was a significant contributor to the lives of many children including Sarah Harrington of Austin, Tx, Leonard Tripp of Kansas City, Debra Sue Lamm of New Palestine, Nancy Rose Orendon of Pennsylvania, and Jill Hackenberg of Missouri.  Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, and two brothers, William T. “Leroy” Brophy and Leonard P.
