GREENFIELD – John Richard “Dick” Hudson, age 78, died Monday, June 9, 2008 at Golden Living Center- Brandywine in Greenfield.  Born on September 8, 1929 in Greenfield, he was the son of John W. and Hazel (McPherson) Hudson.  He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1948 and was self-employed as a plasterer for over 50 years.  He married Barbara E. Hudson on May 21, 1950.  Mr. Hudson loved gardening and woodworking.  Surviving him are his son, Richard Kim Hudson of Greenfield; daughters, Candace (Roger) Zapf of Greenfield and Darla (Kevin) Sleeth of Morristown; sisters, Dorthea Harrison and Marcia (John) Hackleman, both of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.  Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; and sister, Betty Ash.  Visitation will be Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.  Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the mortuary with Pastor John Davis officiating.  Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.  Friends may sign the on-line guestbook at www.erleweinmortuary.com or email condolences to sympathy@erleweinmortuary.com.
